This chapter entails different applications of numbers in terms of comparison, naming, place value and face value. It is defined as the representation of numbers by using digits or other symbols in a consistent manner. The value of any digit in a number can be determined by a digit, its position in the number, and the base of the number system.
The course will cover:
  • Rounding numbers to the nearest 10, 100 or 1000
  • Understand place value concepts through millions.
  • Count by hundred thousand and millions
  • Number representations, compare and order numbers
  • Place value
  • Reading and writing numbers in numerals and words
  • Read and write large numbers numbers in millions and thousands ( Limit upto 10 million)
  • Partition any number upto one million into thousands, hundreds ,tens and units
  • Place a given number on the number line between tens or hundreds or thousands to determine which number is nearer to the given number
  • Identify and compare the number from 100000 to 1000000 using <, > =
  • Round a number to the nearest whole number
