My name is Nani Rahmah and I am an Chemistry Teacher

What’s your teaching experience?

I have taught children from ages varying 12 – 17 years old at School in Indonesia. I have been teaching for the past 5 years at a secondary school level and higher.

What qualifications do you have? (Bachelor’s in education, CELTA, TESOL, etc) 

Master’s in Chemistry Education

How do you teach that helps students learn efficiently?

As a chemistry teacher, I believe that joyful learning is vital as it allows students to enjoy the process of learning. Combining some methods to encourage students’ knowledge using digital tools can make students excited with chemistry. By coming out with fun and engaging activities with specific concepts in mind, I will engage the students in an immersive learning experience where they can make use of things around them to learn. Furthermore, the lessons planned are progressive so that students will be able to follow through easily as they build up their foundation.

Why do you enjoy teaching?

I enjoy coming out with fun and engaging ways to introduce new concepts to the students. By using a different approach, it helps make the lesson less “dry” and more interesting to participate in. I like it when the students have the “eureka” moments as they realize how they can apply the concepts taught to use.

What’s one fun fact about you?

I take joy in learning new skills and trying out various things. I particularly enjoy exploring different food recipes and recreating various food items.
